Traditional Chinese Medicine
Massage
Chinese massage is known as tiu na. Used in conjunction with the other modalities of Chinese Medicine such as acupuncture and cupping it will stimulate the flow of Qi, thereby optimising health.
The techniques of tui na are usually quite stimulating and involve applying pressure on specific pressure points and using pulling or twisting movements on the muscles. In addition to these techniques, assisted stretching and joint mobilization are used during a treatment.
Tui na is not only beneficial for muscular injuries but will assist with relaxation and issues such as labour induction or period pain.
